Kettu is a balanced female who is friendly to everyone. Kettu has moderate prey drive and no game drive at all. Kettu is naturally talented tracking dog, but with the search training tracking has also become natural and meaningful for her. Kettu thinks that searching is great work and he always goes to work with enthusiasm. Swimming activities haven't been so meaningful for Kettu that water rescue would become our sport but maybe she will grow enthusiastic by time. Kettu is sound and platform safe. Agility is taught to her by offering and thinking about lines. Kettu reads the course surprisingly well for her age and can do all obstacles safely. Kettu has the ability to stack and turn tightly without dropping the bars. We are increasing the speed slowly, but it will definitely increase with confidence growth. Kettu moves a lot and this winter gets to run in front of the skis on a cross-country run with another dog. Kettu likes to run, and she thinks running in front and pulling is a very pleasant addition to exercise. Everyday life with Kettu is extremely easy. She is listening cues at once and knows how to calm down when nothing happens. She is also very independent and enjoys being alone in the yard for long periods of time.
This above is co-own home description of Kettu.
When Kettu was at my house to have the puppies on late Summer/Autumn 2024, I was yet again amazed how easy she was. She has no troubles staying in a house of 6 males (of course they where not in a same space all, that could be too much for any female 😅). Birth of puppies went just great, she took care of them nicely and on any parts, I have only good things to say about her and her behavior here. More softer side dog she is, yes but this I knew already and I have took a notice on that when choosing a male for her and same goes with future on. Even that she is softer side dog, while being at my place - I did not see sings of being scared or reacting too much or staying stressed of that (like thunders sounds etc.). I saw a very pleasant dog with a good nearvous system and I think she is the easiest border collie I have ever seen.
Unfortunately she had a tennis elbow with calcification, diagnosed in Spring 2025 so she will propably not be doing agility anymore. Strain injury is the most likely cause in these type of injuries.
What it comes to future puppies, I have consulted a vet of the situation and as luckily the situation for her looks calm with no limp, future puppies are not ruled out. Puppy vice things are under investigation and follow up regarding several things.
